Tokyo, year 2903. Everything looks disconcertingly similiar to what it has been over the last few hundred years. High voltage cables are looming above the streets full of colourful banners, street lights and signs, the omnipresent crowd, an incessant flow of people, the surfeit of goods both overwhelms and generates the sense of disconnection. And so are the human emotions – never easy to interpret – now so detached. Everyone seems to function according to their own inner application. The plot takes up one long nightly meeting of the two strangers: a man and an actress, so bored with their reality that it got them to try to share intimate moments together. He wants her to endow him with the feelings that he had lost. She is open to experiencing more than just another emotional play. They both provoke each other. The film is a futuristic romance set in an old-fashioned hotel room with a vast cityview. Here there is only him and her, a bed, an armchair, the light going on and off, long looks at the view outside the window, his drinks, her dress and their barren exchange of words.
Tokio, rok 2903. Długie wieczorne spotkanie dwóch obcych sobie ludzi: mężczyzny i aktorki. Oboje są znudzeni rzeczywistością. Spróbują podzielić intymne chwile z nieznajomą osobą. On chce, żeby ona wcieliła się kobietę z jego przeszłości, aby odzyskać utracone uczucia. Ona jest otwarta na doświadczenia, na coś więcej niż kolejną emocjonalną grę. Nawzajem się prowokują. Film to futurystyczny romans w staromodnym hotelu z rozległym widokiem na Tokio. Tutaj jest tylko on i ona, łóżko, fotel, światła miasta, długie spojrzenia na widok za oknem, jego stres, jej suknia i ich jałowe wymiany słów.
東京、2903年。数百年あまり、すべては驚くほど変わっていないかのように見える。高電圧網が道路上に張り巡らされ、通りは色鮮やかな看板、光り輝くサインに満ちている。無数の群衆。絶え間ない人の流れ。あふれる物品は人を圧倒しもし、孤独さを際立たせもしている。
人の感情も同様。もともと簡単に理解できるわけではないが、いっそう孤立化している。人は皆、内なる思いに突き動かされるように振る舞っているようである。物語は、見知らぬ二人、男と女優、の長い一夜の邂逅。互いの現実に耐えつつ、だからこそ、より親密な時を過ごそうと努める。男は、女から、かつて自分が失った感情を得ようと願い、女は単なる感情のやりとり以上のものを経験しようと試みる。二人は互いに挑発し合う。この映画は、古びたホテルの部屋と窓の外に広がる街の風景との中で展開される、未来のロマンスを描く。登場するのは、ただ男と女だけ。部屋にあるベッド、長椅子、点滅する光、窓の外に見える遠景。男の飲み物、女のドレス。そしてわずかなことばのやりとり
